The Announcer has been a staple for presenters worldwide, with thousands still in use today. Designed for easy transport and set-up, with both AC and DC capability, The Announcer is equally at home indoors or out. A heavy-duty plywood cabinet clad in industrial grade carpeting is built for commercial usage, making it ideal for industrial, institutional, and rental applications. Clearly marked controls simplify operation. The 14W RMS/27 W peak amplifier handles an audience capacity up to 600 indoors, or up to 300 outdoors, depending upon ambient conditions. Optional factory-installed options such as wireless microphone systems and a rechargeable battery pack further add to The Announcer’s versatility.
Our entry level Announcer is a compact, easy to use portable package that goes anywhere. Featuring a permanently mounted electret microphone with integral metal windscreen on an adjustable shock-mounted arm, volume is easily adjusted with a dash-mounted gain control. An auxiliary XLR microphone jack is provided on the rear auxiliary panel for a second microphone, with its own gain control. An RCA phono combination auxiliary input/output jack is provided on the auxiliary panel for audio connections, as are two 1/4-inch phone jacks for Add-On speakers. The On/Off switch and battery condition meter are conveniently located on the main control panel. A permanently attached AC power cord stores within the cabinet. Optional 6V lantern batteries (two required) are stored in a battery compartment inside the cabinet and are easily accessed without tools.
Our most popular Announcer builds on the R160 by adding extra features to further increase its versatility. In addition to the controls listed above, the control panel includes a switch-controlled reading light, an auxiliary gain control for auxiliary input or output devices, and a master volume gain control that allows easy adjustment of the R600 and any audio sources connected to it. Two LEDs indicate battery operation and power ON, respectively. The rear auxiliary panel is expanded to include both an XLR as well as a 1/4-inch phone jack for extra microphones and individual RCA phono input and output jacks for greater flexibility.
