MCM is the third generation of Snell's router management application, designed to provide an over-arching command-and control capability covering the Snell router and infrastructure range. Allowing complete freedom for the creation and customization of user interfaces for controlling and monitoring Snell equipment. It also provides flexible alarm reporting, logging and management. MCM operates in a client server configuration using standard TCP/IP network protocols. Real-time, dual redundant embedded controllers provide the central interface points for MCM to communicate with and control associated systems. When a user logs onto an MCM workstation by entering a username and password, the workstation will connect to the appropriate servers to provide real-time control and monitoring of the systems associated with that users screens. The network protocols are designed to be routable, allowing operation over almost all network topologies, including wide area networks. MCM provides a powerful design tool that allows screens to literally be drawn for any style of user interface. The designer allows multiple related screens to be created for a single user's logon environment. Every aspect of the user interface can be customized allowing screens to range from clear and functional to more radical designs for the artistically creative.
