The 1261/1061 is an analog video to serial digital (SDI) conversion module with an integral frame synchronizer. The unit is 10 BIT processing that meets broadcast standards for professional use. Composite analog video is converted to 10-bit parallel data and decoded to 4:2:2 digital component video using the state of the art design. The 1261/1061 features dual video I/O signals. Two independent analog inputs can be converted to two independent SDI outputs, (Channels '1' & '2'). One card performs as two independent analog to SDI, A to D conversion. An analog black reference input provides independent timing for each of the two outputs. The H timing range is infinite for precisely timing the signals into the system. In the Gen0lock mode, the 1261/1061 will automatically detect which reference format, NTSC or PAL. In the Free-running mode, the 1261 defaults to NTSC, and to operate in PAL, an external PAL black burst signal must feed the EXT REF input. In the event of loss of input signal, the user can select the output to freeze the last frame (four fields), black or SMPTE color bars. The front panel rotary encoder provides adjustments of timing and phase for Channels '1' and '2'. The rear panel accepts two analog video inputs, and provides two SDI outputs of each input. A single BNC is provided for black reference input, impedance 75 ohms. The front card edge 7 segment display provides information about the operating performance. The front card edge has two switches used as "menu" and "escape" and a rotary encoder for system timing. The "menu" switch is used to select channels for adjustment of each parameter. The rotary encoder is used to browse through the various settings in each channel and make adjustments the "escape" switch is used to go back to the previous menu item. The menu selections may be used bi-directionally for ease of setup.
