The CA-1000 controllable 32W amplifier from Calypso bring a new standard to small room audio. Despite its small size, this amplifier, controllable through both IR and serial commands, delivers extraordinarily clean 32W of power with a host of unique and useful features. The CA-1000 drives 16 watts per channel at 4 ohms and 8 watts per channel at 8 ohms. With a S/N greater than 85 dB and THD of .1%, the result is near-professional audio quality. In addition, the unit offers 4 discrete inputs, including 1 stereo balanced/unbalanced, 2 stereo unbalanced and 1 mono balanced/unbalanced. Any two channels are selectable and may be mixed together, and channels 1-3 can also be set as mono channels. With an on-board mixer that allows for preset levels, and serial and IR control for switching, volume and other controls, the CA-1000 provides unheard of flexibility and value. And, with its multi-channel input, one can connect DVD audio, PC audio, CD audio and microphone audio to a single CA-1000 unit, and easily switch between sources. Moreover, optional audio ducking forces audio sources to automatically mute when a designated microphone channel is active, and un-mute when the microphone goes quite, with selectable time delays. Similarly, the PA Detect circuit forces complete mute when overhead speakers are activated.
