The MediaReactor USB contact closure adapter allows electrical contact closure events to start and stop MediaMaster Playlist (MM-1160) scheduled playlists. For example, the intercom button press that starts the school’s morning announcements can turn the school’s classroom displays on and send them to the IPTV channel used by the journalism class’s morning news program. This physical connection between the real world and software events allows the Media-Master system to react to these events in real time, rather than force you to preconcieve all of your event scheduling needs. The adapter provides a hardware interface between a MediaMaster Server (MM-1000, 2000, 3000 or 4000) and the physical contact closures in the broader system. Contact closure wires run to the server rack, where the MM-1610 adapter is plugged into the school’s MediaMaster Server.
