Interpretation and conferencing solutions ensure smooth progress for Unilever’s international event
Aug. 8, 2024 - Dicentis conferencing and interpretation technology from Bosch Building Technologies was at the heart of Unilever’s recent four-day UEWC (Unilever European Works Council) Meeting. While the physical meeting with 40 people took place in Budapest, dozens more international attendees were able to join via the distributed livestream.
Unilever is a Dutch/British manufacturing giant behind more than 400 brands. Its UEWC plenary meeting provides an opportunity for worker representatives to discuss issues and to learn from best practices. The meeting was traditionally an in-person event. This became an online only meeting during the Covid-19 pandemic but has since developed further into a hybrid event to bring the best of both worlds and create a modern meeting environment.
Trusted Partners
Unilever has a long-term relationship with Jacot Audiovisueel, and once again turned to the Dutch representative of the Congress Rental Network (CRN) for full service audiovisual support of the event. The Jacot team supported Unilever with advice for the design of the room as well as covering the technical details and project planning. The latest products were then demonstrated to Unilever’s management ahead of the meeting to discuss the added value that they could bring.
The meeting required discussion devices for the 40 participants in the room as well as simultaneous interpretation consoles for 20 interpreters. These requirements were met with 40 Dicentis discussion devices for the delegates and 20 Dicentis interpreter desks for simultaneous interpretation. With the event taking place in Budapest, Jacot brought in Hungarian CRN member Special Effects International to provide support and technicians for the set-up.
Simple Integration
Jacot handled the full sound and lighting system for the room and tied in automatic camera tracking with the Dicentis discussion devices by using EasyCam software from MVI AudioVisual. The push to talk button of the devices initiated automatic camera switching and provided the interpreter desks, livestream and displays in the hall with the visual feed.
The end result was a comprehensive meeting that delivered everything the client required. “What a great week it was in Budapest,” said Sabine Piel, Coordinator of Unilever European Works Council. “Everything ran smoothly thanks to the trusted cooperation with our regular trusted suppliers. It's nice that all the preparation led to this good result.”
