Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Systems sells engine power generation systems, industrial engines, and turbochargers, as well as related products and services.
With offices spread across Japan, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Systems relies on internal conference calls to connect team members, nationwide. In 2022, they invested in Jabra video systems and speakerphonesto enhance their working environment, boost productivity and ramp up the quality of their communications.
The Challenge
In July 2022 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Systems established an Employee Satisfaction Quality Development Office, to focus on improving the quality and efficiency of the work they produced, and their supporting environment and communications. One of the first investments they made was to adopt the Jabra PanaCast 50 video bar and Jabra Meet Anywhere, an integrated system which includes the PanaCast camera and Speak 750 speakerphone.
Flexible, easy, and convenient
Alongside the video and audio quality, a key selling point was the ease of setting the system up and then using it. Mr Sudo, from the ES Quality Development Office explains, “Being able to simply plug the PanaCast 50 into a USB port and go, without having to deal with a bunch of settings is fantastic. Even people who aren't confident with technology have no trouble using them. They can join their Teams meetings in the usual way and just get going in seconds.”
Meet Anywhere has the additional advantage of being portable. Mr Sudo adds “I carry one around for spur-of-the-moment online meetings. It's also convenient to be able to take one with me on business trips.”
Putting everyone in the picture
Next-level sound is matched by next-level video, as the PanaCast 50 video bar features three 13-megapixel cameras, producing a 4K-HD 180’ view of the room. ES Quality Development’s Mr Nomura was impressed by how immersive and inclusive this made meetings feel, in turn dramatically boosting the overall meeting experience, as well as improving their productivity. “Our time in meetings has decreased because it goes so smoothly now. Before we invested in Jabra, nobody knew the right time to speak during online meetings, so nobody spoke. Now, with Jabra, you can tell when someone wants to talk, so it's much easier to find the right flow.”
Increasing productivity. Enhancing meeting minutes.
Jabra’s video solutions have additional handy features to increase productivity; the PanaCast 50 whiteboard streaming and voice-recognition features, which Mr Shiotani from the Power Generation System department has praise for.
“The whiteboard streaming feature allows us to display the meeting room's whiteboard on the screen and record it, which comes in especially handy when going over documents. We also use the whiteboard for minutes in client meetings. We can write as much as required and get agreement from everyone involved there and then. That alone has dramatically increased productivity.”
